I realize it has been far too long since I have posted and need to finish our roadtrip blog!!

We got up on Tuesday and had breakfast early at the Circus Circus buffet room.  Met an older lady who won several hundred thousand dollars (7 jackpots).  She was a little nutty.  I couldn’t even begin to tell you what she spent an hour talking about.  But she did give us a gold presidential coin, apparently she collects them.

We took off around 9am and drove and drove and drove.  Through Arizona, we saw Two Guns/Diablo Canyon ghost town.  We got to drive on a portion of old route 66.  Although now, they are adding more and more commercial shops and things, so it’s not nearly the same.  (I say, acting like I know what the old Route 66 was like)  We tried to see the meteor crater, but they wanted to charge us $16 a person and we said, “nah.”  From the highway we could see the Painted Desert (not as big as I expected).  Then we tried to see the Petrified Forest, it was about to close for the day and they were also going to charge us something along the lines of $10.  Don’t know why National Parks that are the property of the Earth costs money.  Isn’t appreciation payment enough?

Hit a little bump in the road around Albuquerque, NM.  Car began to smoke and found that the oil in the car had completely depleted!!  Thank goodness we were in a large city since they are pretty hard to come by.  5 quarts of oil later we hit the road again.  I slept until we came to about Oklahoma City and then we feasted on a tiny diner’s breakfast.  Then Daniel napped it up until we hit Little Rock, AK.  Ended this long journey at Daniel’s grannys and we were finally back in Kentucky!!
