Sara's Key

This is such a wonderful book.  It is in part set in the past in 1942 during the Vel' d'Hiv roundup during WWII in France and in part in 2002 following a journalist looking into the past for the sixtieth anniversary of the roundup.  A story that you can't forget and what's more is even though it was fiction, I felt like I learned quite a bit because I had never even heard of the Vel' d'Hiv.  Which says something about our education it seems.  It seems odd that they turned one of the internment camps (Drancy) into public housing.  Kind of strange.  A very good book about Sara who locks her brother in their secret hiding place so as to save him.
